WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR MAT SESSION
Do you like to move? Would you like to move without pause and do anything you want and NOT have to make changes to tolerate motion? Range of Motion is everything. If you cannot produce AND control a motion, it means one or more muscles that cross that joint are not functioning in contracting or letting go. My practice facilitates optimal Neuromuscular mechanics, (brain to muscle communication), by connecting where the muscle is with what the muscle does; when it is fully engaged we create stability, mobility and a foundation building strength. MAT® Master Certified Specialist is trained to identify and correct muscle imbalances systematically to restore muscle function so you don’t have to negotiate to move.
Observe Active Range of Motion (AROM)
This process determines the most asymmetrical/ limited motion and establishes our treatment route.
Assess which muscles are not functioning correctly
Each muscle that has a dominant or stabilizing role in the determined limited range is tested to verify if it can contract and hold contraction (proper function).
Palpation at the attachment sites of the weak muscle
This manual touch re-syncs communication between the brain and the muscles. It reminds the brain where the muscle attaches and what role the muscle is supposed to play in healthy movement.
RETEST THE muscle
This step determines whether proper communication between the brain and the muscle as been reestablished. If the muscle contracts when it is needed, it has been effectively stimulated and activated.
